What’s with all the panic buying?

Empty shelves are exposing our human vulnerability.

We’re seeing a lot of vulnerability driven behaviour. To use our metaphor, a lot of people are feeling their “lilo of life” is wobbly and uncertain. They fear they might go under.

The focus on and dash for toilet paper looks a lot like a drowning behaviour – people are “grabbing on to something” they think will make them feel safer. As if the toilet paper is a life saving ring.

Some people are “thrashing about” and fighting over toilet paper in their fear.

While others are literally “going round in circles” looking for toilet paper.

These are all our behaviours when we think we’re at risk of sinking and maybe drowning, so try not join in, be kind, because people are only doing this because they're feeling vulnerable.
